The loan officer and loan coordinator were fine to work with. The underwriters however? That is another story. We would be asked for many versions of the same thing several times over. They would ask for these up to three days before closing. They were not prepared by the 1st closing date (either were the sellers). We felt pretty crazy by the end. Even though we were able to close, I would not recommend the stress and the mess. A remark from the Title team at closing: "I have never seen a stack of papers that are basically several versions of the same thing needing to be signed by borrowers." Perhaps things are different for banks with "in-house underwriters". Honestly, it felt like they wanted you so exhausted so close to the end that you would just sign anything.

John Gallagher was very helpful and easy to work with and amazing to talk with to understand my options, I unfortunately can’t say the same about the rest of the team. Lindsey and Marissa were extremely hard to get ahold of when I or my realtor needed them. They didn’t answer their contact numbers and made it almost impossible to close on the home. I received feedback from both the title company AND my realtor at their lack of communication with them and the lack information that should’ve been shared with me. The underwriter that was assigned (no name provided) was very inefficient and caused quite a bit of delay with the title company and myself with the necessary documents needed - multiple times on occasion and balancing the closing documents with the title company was delayed due to lack of communication.

My wife and I have been married for nearly 10 years, and during that time, we have been renting while raising our four children. Last year, we began seriously considering purchasing a home of our own. We found ourselves constantly dealing with repairs and maintenance, all while realizing that, at any moment, our landlord could choose to sell the property, leaving us without a place to live. While the risk may not have been immediate, it was enough for us to start exploring our options. We decided to see if we could qualify for a home loan. Both of us have maintained full time employment for nearly a decade, earn a stable income, and manage our finances responsibly. After doing some research online, Neighbors Bank appeared as the first result, so I completed an application to check for prequalification and we were approved. After having in depth discussions to ensure we were financially prepared, we decided to move forward with the process. Bradley, our loan coordinator, contacted us promptly and provided access to the Neighbors Bank portal, which made uploading documents and communication extremely efficient. We then connected with a real estate agent and spent about two weeks viewing various homes. After careful consideration, we returned to the very first home we had toured and realized it was the perfect fit for our family. Throughout the entire process, everyone involved, from the bank, to our agent, to the seller’s agent, was exceptional. We received final loan approval and scheduled our closing for March 16th. We completed our final walkthrough the day before, and the following day, we sat down with the title company to sign all of our official documents. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the entire experience. We are especially satisfied with the loan terms, mortgage, and closing costs. We had a fabulous experience with both Ashley Owens as well as Cecil Anderson. From start to finish either one of them were willing to put up with us as first time home buyers and all the questions that go along with that.
